A Ravenshead designer has launched a new business, inspired by her passion for lingerie.

Former fashion student Sophie Moon says MOON 11 is a limited-edition bodywear brand that focuses on combining meaningful jewellery with underwear to create one-of-a-kind pieces.

As well as her love of lingerie, 26-year-old Sophie, an ex-Mansfield Brunts School pupil, has been inspired through spiritualty to use natural healing crystals with her first designs.

Her mother and grandmother have run a spiritual healing and psychic company for more than 20 years.

Sophie said: “I have always had a passion for contoured garments and bodywear. I also get my inspiration from space — it’s in my name! — film, meaningful jewellery, and the female form.

“All our pieces are designed, developed, and handcrafted in the UK, using raw materials that are ethically sourced, including the healing crystals.

“Our components are sourced locally where possible, and all our packaging is made from recycled materials or is biodegradable.

“In Chapter 1, we use natural healing crystals to empower the wearer through the power of crystal healing.

“We believe that wearing the crystals close to your skin enhances the maximum benefits from the energy they emit.

This is because they are direct to the skin for a long period of time.”

The crystals are detachable and the bodywear is designed to ne worn as underwear and outerwear.

At Brunts Sophie studied textiles and art. She then went to Nottingham College for three years, where she completed a Fashion and Clothing Diploma and Art Foundation.

Sophie extended her skills further at the London College of Fashion, where she graduated with a first in Lingerie and Swimwear Design.

Since then she spent a year in Holland, working alongside the swim design team at surfing brand O’Neill.

She has also been a designer and fabric technician for Pentland Brands, which own Canterbury and Speedo among other household names, in Nottingham.
