Awards for businesswomen

Mansfield’s businesswomen were well represented at the East Midlands Chamber’s annual Enterprising Women/Integra awards.

Caroline Cox (pictured), operations manager of business support group Mansfield 2020, was named Rising Star 2015.

She was also part of the Career Champions Board, with Berni Dickinson, of Mansfield Area Partnership, and Katrina Atherton, of A Star Media, who were finalists in the Team Of The Year category, sponsored by The Money Shop.

Katrina was also a finalist in the Business Woman of the Year section, sponsored by Roundhouse Thinking.

Kim Wilson, of Mansfield Manor Hotel, was a finalist in the Apprentice Of The Year category, sponsored by Babington Group.

The event celebrated the achievements of women in business across Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire and Leicestershire.

BBC TV East Midlands Today anchor Anne Davies hosted the event and presented the awards.
Caroline said: ‘To find out I was nominated for this award (Rising Star) was overwhelming but to actually win was an honour I don’t take lightly.

“I mean it when I say I am blessed to wake up in the morning and get paid to do a job that I love and has a positive impact on the town that I have chosen to live in.

“I am thankful to have a board of directors that support me in driving and growing 2020 for the benefit of our members and the town. This recognition is for the members that give me the tools to help and support them.

“I am passionate about putting Mansfield on the map in a positive light. I listen, support and act. I’m driven to get businesses involved to be part of the solution.

“I donate my time to several projects because I have a long-term vision for our town and it will be marketed as the best place to do business.

“We are already the hub for the fastest growing SMEs in the East Midlands.”
