Apprentice off to flying start

A local 17-year-old apprentice is making a name for herself less than a year after joining Mansfield-based digital agency Dijitul.

Emma Hoskins started making a difference within a few weeks and is now pulling in substantial orders for one of the Dijitul businesses, Working Chairs.

Last year, Dijitul took over their client’s business, allowing the owners to retire.

Working Chairs was started in the early 1990s and developed into an online furniture retailer, supplying companies across the country, including hotels, solicitors, building companies and football clubs.

Dave Hartshorne, one of the two founders of Dijitul, said: “Taking over the office furniture business was a great opportunity.

“It was a great example to demonstrate how Dijitul could build a successful online business, which it does for hundreds of companies around the world.”

“Emma is responsible for the day-to-day running of the commercial furniture website, which is under redevelopment and being rebranded to DDC Interiors.

“Thanks to her ongoing commitment and forward thinking, Emma is now working closely with the likes of Sodexo, Leonard Cheshire Disability, the NHS and others, who have all placed substantial orders with us.”

Dijitul has been based in Mansfield since 2006, employs local people and has been providing apprenticeships opportunities to young people in the town.

As reported in the NewsJournal, it made a pitch to Sir Richard Branson to win his support for a new venture, Locul.uk
