Applications open for £4.3m grants for small Ashfield businesses

Ashfield District Council is to give out £4.3million in grants to support local small businesses

The grants are available to businesses that have been affected by the coronavirus pandemic and includes non-essential retail, hospitality, leisure, accommodation, personal care, entertainment and businesses in the direct supply chain of these business sectors.

The council will receive at least £4.3m to distribute in grants, with a further grant income stream yet to be confirmed by Government.

The application scheme opened today, with an application deadline of midnight on Sunday, 29th November.

An online eligibility checker will quickly let businesses see if they are eligible to apply for the grants. If they answer yes to all six eligibility criteria, the next step is complete a quick and easy application form. All applications must be made online, complete with the required evidence, and before the deadline.

Coun Jason Zadrozny, leader of the council, said: “These are extremely difficult times and we know the grants will be a lifeline to many of our businesses across the District. I want to encourage as many businesses as possible to check to see if they are eligible for these grants. The money is here to help business reduce the impact of the pandemic and support them when they are able to reopen.”
