AMbassadors’ celebration

The Invest Ashfield and Mansfield AMbassadors’ programme celebrated its first year of promoting local business opportunities with a lunch-time event attended by around 40 AMbassadors.

Representing businesses from across Ashfield and Mansfield, the AMbassadors gathered at Forever Green, Ransomwood to hear how the programme has been helping to promote Ashfield and Mansfield as a first class place to do business with many benefits.

Keynote speaker Katrina Atherton, Director of A-Star media, told delegates how they can help to promote Ashfield and Mansfield to their clients, customers and contacts and what resources are available to help them attract potential investors to the area.

The AMbassadors’ programme celebrates the many successes of local companies and encourages local business people to help highlight the unique advantages of establishing a business in the area.

Ashfield and Mansfield is one of the most cost-effective places to do business in the UK with savings of around 48% in accommodation costs. Offering over 400 acres of development land with high-quality commercial property available, the area is also a top 20 city for low carbon emissions.

Coun Kate Allsop, portfolio holder for economic regeneration at Mansfield District Council, said: “This event was an opportunity to celebrate the important work of the AMbassadors and the AMbassadors’ programme in attracting investors and new businesses to the area. Ashfield and Mansfield offer many benefits when it comes to starting or growing a business and events like these help to spread the word that this area is cost-effective with competitive rates, has great transport links and is already home to world class businesses.”

Coun Chris Baron, leader of Ashfield District Council said: “In just one year the AMbassadors’ programme has flourished into an impressive scheme that really promotes our districts as excellent locations to do business. I would encourage local people to get involved and help grow our business community.”
