All change at Tallents Solicitors

Posted onPosted on 16th May

Tallents Solicitors, which has offices in Mansfield, Southwell and Newark, has promoted Alistair Millar to senior partner following the retirement of Mark Hawkins.

Since qualifying as a solicitor in 1996 and joining Tallents in 2003, Alistair has built up experience in both residential and commercial property law and is head of the conveyancing department as well as being the firm’s agricultural law specialist.

Partners Andy Stout, head of family and children law, and Stephanie Whitchurch, head of litigation and a solicitor specialising in personal and commercial dispute resolution, will support Alistair at the Newark office.

Partner Vili Chung, a solicitor in both commercial and residential property law, has moved from Mansfield to supervise the Southwell office.

Partners Sarah Allen, head of wills, trusts and probate, and Mat Derbyshire, a solicitor in children and family law, will supervise the Mansfield office.

Recently joining Tallents were solicitors Amy Cook and Oliver Emmett, who are working in the property department at Newark. The Mansfield office has welcomed solicitor Kimberley Rhule to its family law department.

Alistair said: “Tallents Solicitors has been helping more than nine generations of Nottinghamshire and Lincolnshire citizens since 1774 and it’s wonderful to see the firm still growing so strongly nearly 250 years later. It’s a testament to the hard work and commitment of our staff towards their clients that we are still one of the oldest law firms in the East Midlands and possibly the UK.

“As senior partner, I am looking forward to overseeing the continued success and growth of Tallents Solicitors as we move towards our quarter century milestone of legal service.”
