A safe port in a tempest

The increasing need to help local people both into and out of work has seen demand for business training soar with companies like Mansfield’s Tempest Management Training achieving around 30% growth over recent years.

Tempest Management Training, based in Mansfield i-Centre, has reported a significant increase in its apprenticeship training courses — and is also working with more clients seeking support for their staff as they prepare to face closure and redundancies.

Apprenticeship training and bespoke transitional training packages are two of the services delivered by owner and director Margaret Tempest and her team of trainer assessors.

“Our reputation for providing training that genuinely increases company profits, as well as contributing to individuals’ achievements, is such that our clients keep coming back and are always happy to tell others about us,” she said.

“Both the Government’s pledge to fund three million workers over the next three years through apprenticeships and the decisions of some UK manufacturers to close have provided us with a significant amount of extra work – and more importantly the opportunity to make a difference to lives.”

Margaret, along with around 50 businesses at the i-Centre, managed by Oxford Innovation Ltd, benefits from its training rooms and facilities, including free one-to-one business development coaching and workshops.

She said: “I love it at Mansfield i-Centre. The whole team is supportive and the facilities are something to be proud of. I will never move.”
