Building society backs creche

Tiny Teddies Community Crèche, Ashbourne, has received £250 from The Mansfield Building Society’s Community Support Scheme.

Tiny Teddies provide crèche facilities for parents of preschoolers aged 8 weeks to 5 years and are based at Ashbourne Leisure Centre. The group was formed in order to save the crèche following council cuts.

Felicity Morgan, of Tiny Teddies Community Crèche, said: “We would like to thank The Mansfield for providing these funds which will allow us to purchase a banner to promote the group and also buy toys for the children including the purchase of a replacement trike which the children love.”

The Mansfield’s Commercial Development Executive, Richard Crisp, said: “The Mansfield is pleased to help a group that supports families in the local area.

“Tiny Teddies gives children a safe and social environment to play whilst enabling parents to use the leisure centre facilities should they choose. The commitment of the crèche team and the enjoyment of the children was a delight to see.”
