An evening event about Ankylosing Spondylitis is open to the public on Monday, 7th April.
There will be presentations on the symptoms, diagnosis, medications and exercise led by Dr Maria Al-Deiri, consultant rheumatologist, with support from the therapy team and the National Ankylosing Spondylitis Society (NASS).
Ankylosing spondylitis is a type of chronic inflammatory arthritis that affects parts of the spine, including bones, muscles and ligaments.
Dr Al-Deiri said: “The aim of this event is to increase public awareness of the condition as patients tend to suffer for years until they get diagnosed”.
The event takes place from 6-8pm in Lecture Theatre 2, King’s Mill Hospital.
To book a place contact the membership office on 01623 622515 extension 3575 or email [email protected]. Tea/coffee will be provided from 5.30pm.
