Supporting Alzheimer’s Society in 2023

Posted onPosted on 14th Feb

Mansfield Building Society’s staff have voted Alzheimer’s Society as its new charity partner.

Throughout 2023 the team at The Mansfield will be fundraising and volunteering for the charity, helping to support more than 12,700 people estimated to be living with dementia across Nottinghamshire.

Alzheimer’s disease is the most common type of dementia. Dementia can affect memory, problem-solving, language, and behaviour.

Alice Grewcock, community fundraiser for Alzheimer’s Society in Nottinghamshire, said:

“We’re delighted that Mansfield Building Society has chosen us as its charity partner.

“It’s thanks to them and other dedicated supporters that Alzheimer’s Society can be a vital source of support for anyone affected by dementia and a powerful force for change.

“Too many face dementia alone. We will not rest until people with dementia and their carers live more fulfilled and less fearful lives, free from stigma and inequality.”

Vickie Preston, head of HR at the building society, added: “The Mansfield has actively supported Alzheimer’s Society in previous years and we continue to work closely with Dementia Friends, who have provided training to all society branch colleagues in how to support members affected by dementia.”

Alzheimer’s Society’s Dementia Support line provides expert support through practical advice, emotional support, and guidance for the best next step. Call 0333 150 3456 or visit alzheimers.org.uk for more information
