Resilient student LiamJay Bonsall is celebrating a remarkable achievement — he has not had a day off school for the past seven years.

The 17-year-old has just left The Beech Academy, Mansfield, with a 100 per cent attendance record.

The academy is part of The Evolve Trust, which said the teenager had shown amazing ambition and resilience at the school since starting in September 2015.

After celebrating at the end of Year 7 for gaining a 100% attendance award, Liam-Jay decided he would aim for two years and his ambition has since extended.

The trust added: “Liam-Jay’s resilience has been something for us all to be proud of.

“This huge achievement is something that his peers look up to him for, and he is well known in school for his fabulous achievement.

“We are sure that this work ethnic and willingness to show up every day, even when it is difficult, will continue throughout his adult life.”

Claire-Marie Cuthbert, trust chief executive, said: “We are so proud of Liam-Jay.

“Our values of Ambition, Integrity, Inclusivity, Resilience and Endeavour are the foundations of the Evolve Trust, and Liam-Jay has shown great ambition and resilience whilst at Beech.”
