A multi-sensory and thought provoking experience called Dangerous Or Otherwise awaits visitors to The Workhouse in Southwell, as The Bare Project performs a new collaborate piece at the National Trust property in September.

The Bare Project, a Sheffield based theatre and interactive arts company, are creative fellows at The Workhouse this year, supported by funding from The Arts Council.

They have been collaborating with Workhouse volunteers and young people from the Newark Emmaus Trust to develop a creative performance which explores the issues of poverty, health and homelessness.

Dangerous Or Otherwise explores whether our attitudes to these issues, as relevant today as in the time of The Workhouse, have really changed.

“Bare Project have created an exciting opportunity to involve young people by using technology and performance that is very accessible to them,” said Jan Overfield-Shaw, Creative and Community Officer at The Workhouse. “Visitors can expect a performance unlike anything we have done before,” she added.

Dangerous Or Otherwise takes place on the evenings of Thursday 21, Friday 22 and Saturday 23 September from 19.00-20.30 in the old infirmary building and immerses the audience in an installation using voices, music and visuals. Tickets cost £10 for adults and £5 for children(suitable for 14 years and over), booking is essential as numbers are limited so call 0344 2491895 – see: www.nationaltrust.org.uk/theworkhouse
