Vets blanket appeal prompts donation

Posted onPosted on 23rd May

A Mansfield vets’ appeal on social media for warm blankets to help its patients recover after surgery led to a donation of thermal blankets from Heat Holders.

Chelsea Cook, head veterinary nurse at Bridge House Veterinary Surgery, Sherwood Hall Road, said: “Many of our blankets were looking very tatty and we needed new ones for our patients to snuggle into.

“An animal’s temperature drops after anaesthetic, so providing a warm blanket helps to stabilise it during recovery. Dogs and cats like something to snuggle into, as it makes them feel at home.”

As well as the donated Snuggle Ups Blankets, Heat Holders also makes ladies’, men’s and children’s thermal socks that are said to be the world’s warmest.
