Oak Tree Primary School, Mansfield, pupils collected food that was handed over to charity at a celebratory Harvest Festival in a school assembly.

The school wanted the food to go to a cause to make a difference, and contacted its local Tesco store for help.

Tesco works in partnership with Sherwood Forest Foodbank, which supports families in need in the Mansfield area. The store passed the food on to the foodbank.

Oak Tree head Mark Thrower (pictured) said: “We wanted to make a contribution to the community and we know Tesco collect for the foodbank. It seemed an ideal solution to take a small group of children to the store with our harvest collection.”
