Extra help for charity

Posted onPosted on 15th Mar

The Tesco Extra store on Jubilee Way South in Mansfield celebrated the introduction of high street fashion brands in store by donating £1,000 to a charity that provides horse riding for disabled children and young people.

Store manager Mark Taylor presented a cheque to Woodside Farm Stables Riding for the Disabled during a relaunch event.

Six-year-old Jessica Wheatley, the winner of a competition to design a healthy-eating poster, received a £25 gift card and her school, Heathlands Primary at Rainworth, received a Junior Chefs Academy workshop.

Thousands of hessian bags with the design were given away to customers.

Mark Taylor said: “Woodside Farm Stables has been a part of the local community for many years and does a great job providing horse-riding therapy and experiences for young disabled people.”

Mrs Winifred Pritchett from the stables, said: “The Woodside volunteers, clients and their families are grateful for such generous support.”

Junior Chefs Academy is a leading provider of healthy-eating workshops and events around food education.

Burton, Evans, Dorothy Perkins, Claire’s Accessories, Miss Selfridge and Wallis are the brands that have been introduced to the store.
