Celebration in Mansfield Market

Posted onPosted on 20th Apr

Mansfield town centre is set to be a hive of activity on Saturday, 29th April as Mansfield District Council prepares to host a carnival-themed Market Celebration.

From 11am to 3pm, families can expect to be immersed in a carnival atmosphere with a fairground organ, circus skills workshop, walkabout clowns, traditional hook-a-duck stall, children’s craft activities and Professor Paul Temple’s Punch and Judy Show.

There will also be free face-painting as well as giveaways and a competition for the chance to win a £20 voucher to spend on the market – look out for the circus tent pictures hidden on stalls around Market Place and work out the hidden word.

Mansfield Market has seen a £100,000 investment in the last year with new stalls and canopies, food court, signage and full event programme. There are new products available.

Director of economic growth at the Mike Robinson said: “It’s a year since Mansfield Market was transformed so we wanted to celebrate a year on with this special event.

“The Market Celebration event is a great family day out and free for all to enjoy whilst you’re shopping in town, so be sure to support your local market and join us for all of this entertainment.”
