Great service sees Keera shortlisted for national award

Rising star Keera Scott has been shortlisted in an awards scheme that celebrates the work of people involved in the hotel industry.

Keera (26) is the events manager at Mansfield Manor Hotel, where she has worked since March 2015. She organises all the events at the venue, including weddings and conferences.

Keera has been shortlisted as just one of five finalists in the Shining Star category of the Boutique Hotelier Personal Service Star Awards.

She said: “This is so exciting. It’s amazing. I do try to put my all in to everything I do and it’s nice to be recognised for that. It’s nice for customers to recognise you too.

“The hotel is an amazing place to work. The bosses care so much about the wellbeing and successes that you have too. The opportunities I have had here have been amazing and if I do go on to win an award, it will be their success as well.”

A recent review of the hotel stated: “We got married this year at the Mansfield Manor and glad we did. A special thank you to Keera for organising everything. It was stress free and ended up with everything and more than we could of wished for.”

A spokesperson for the awards scheme said that the finalists were all proving to be “real assets to their hotel and showing real promise in the hospitality industry”.

The winner will be decided by a judging panel – consisting of five top industry experts – which will then be revealed at the Boutique Hotelier Personal Service Star Awards on October 18 at Hilton Olympia.

The event, taking place on the first day of Independent Hotel Show 2016, is free to attend for hoteliers and staff.
