Soroptimist International Mansfield is to continue its work in 2020 raising money for charities.

Among the causes it will help in the new year are the Eve Appeal — the only UK national charity funding research and raising awareness into the five gynaecological cancers, womb, ovarian, cervical, vulval and vaginal — and the Acoustic Neuroma Association.

One of the last charity events the Soroptimists held in 2019 was a coffee morning at the home of Dr John and Lynn Dale, when more than £300 was raised.

It included money collected in lieu of Christmas cards for the organisation’s international president’s appeal 2019 – 2021 The Road to Equality.

Future events include a craft fair at Ravenshead Village Hall on Saturday, 7th March, from 10am to 3pm. Anyone interested in further details should call Sue Manchester on 07758 369562.

On Friday, 27th March, there will be a Chinese feast at Springwater restaurant, Moor Lane, Calverton, at 7pm for 7.30pm.
