Mansfield and District Male Voice Choir enjoyed a successful three-concert South Wales tour in May.
Now it is joining with Ravenshead Swing Band for a Summer Sing and Swing concert at Mansfield Rugby Club this month.
The midsummer evening concert on 21st June, at 7.30pm, is at a new venue for both the choir and the swing band, which marked the choir’s 80th anniversary at a special concert in Southwell Minster last year.
As well as uplifting swing music, concertgoers in June can look forward to male voice choir standards, songs from the shows, and music portraying a wide range of styles and repertoire.
The South Wales tour — arranged by concert manager Lynden Lowe — included sell-out concerts with Cor Meibion de Cymru (South Wales Male Voice Choir) at All Saints Church, Penarth; Pembroke and District Male Voice Choir at St Nicholas and St John’s Church, Monkton; and Chepstow Male Choir at the town’s Drill Hall.
They featured a wide range of songs from Welsh ballads and hymns to modern popular music.
