Have-a-go sessions at Mansfield Museum

As visitors make their way round the year-long exhibition, Mansfield Museum in 389¼ Objects, they will encounter a variety of different arts and crafts, from portrait painting and pottery to wood-carving and photography via dress-making and metalwork.

In keeping with the museum’s aim of making Mansfield’s heritage as accessible and relevant as possible, it is offering visitors a chance to try their hand, on the most basic level, at some of the processes behind the eye-catching exhibits.

The full programme has yet to be finalised but already slated are pottery decorating, simple drawing skills and textile crafting.

They are:

Tuesday 26 April 10am–2pm
Textiles with Growing Bolder £2 per person

Tuesday 24 May 10am–2pm
Drawing Skills with Jonathan Annabel £2 per person

Tuesday 28 June 10am–2pm
Theme to be confirmed

Tuesday 26 July 10am–2pm
Workshop by Glazy Place (cost will depend on the pot you chose to decorate)
