Still time to enter the Mansfield 10K

Posted onPosted on 15th Aug

The Mansfield 10K, which has doubled its size since returning in 2015, is to be held on Sunday, 15th September.

More than 1,000 participants will race around the centre of Mansfield in 10K and 5K races.

The Mansfield 10K has been chosen as the host for the Notts AAA 10K Road Running County Championships, which will see the best club runners in the county competing for glory.

Mansfield Mayor Andy Abrahams said: “Events such as this are important to Mansfield and demonstrate our potential as a destination.”

Among the runners will be Mansfield MP Ben Bradley, who said: “I am really looking forward to taking part in my second 10K run in Mansfield. Last year’s event was a massive success. I will be doing my best to beat my time and raise lots of money for a local charity.”

The official charity for the event is Reach UK, which provides support and opportunities for people living with learning disabilities.

Fundraising officer Sarah Cobb said: “Reach Learning Disability has been at the heart of the Mansfield 10K since its inception. This fantastic event sums up everything that’s great about the town and demonstrates how people with learning disabilities are accepted as an integral part of community life.

“We would love to hear from anyone who might like to run the 5K or 10K on our behalf and we will provide free entry for in return for some fundraising.”
