Boccia clubs have launched at Oak Tree Leisure Centre in Mansfield and Warsop Health Hub, offering a chance for people of all abilities to try the sport.

Boccia, a target ball sport that tests both muscle control and accuracy, is played from a seated position and is ideal for wheelchair users.

Oak Tree sessions take place on Mondays at 11am and Warsop sessions run every Thursday at 12.15pm.

Carolyn Hallam, health and wellbeing manager for More Leisure Community Trust, which manages both facilities, said: “Anyone is welcome to join, whether you are looking to get active, meet new people, or try out a new sport.”
