Hundreds of children from schools within the Flying High Partnership joined together for two days of indoor athletics events.
Among those taking part at Kirkby Leisure Centre were youngsters from Bilsthorpe Flying High Academy; Sutton’s Forest Glade Primary and Nursery; Leamington Primary & Nursery Academy, and Mapplewells Primary and Nursery; Kirkby’s Greenwood Primary and Nursery School; Peafield Lane Academy, Mansfield Woodhouse; and The Flying High Academy in Ladybrook, Mansfield (pictured).
Scott Hardy, director at Next Level Sports/Elite Swimming, which organised the athletics meets, said: “It’s a great opportunity for primary pupils to come together and enjoy what is one of our favourite events on the calendar.
“The atmosphere was fantastic, and children enjoyed a variety of activities, including running, jumping, and throwing events.”
The founder and chief executive of the partnership, Chris Wheatley, added: “The sport events have been a fantastic success and our children loved the opportunity to take part.
“At Flying High, we value creating collective events throughout the year, to bring our together children from the 35 schools in our partnership. These events are wonderful opportunities for children to learn and interact with each other.”
