Shacklocks raise £700 for nightclub initiative

Posted onPosted on 10th Mar

Employees at Mansfield solicitors Shacklocks have created and taken part in a variety of imaginative and fun experience days to raise £700 for local not-for-profit initiative TenFifty.

TenFifty — a night club project exclusively for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities — is held on the first Monday of the month at Andwhynot Bar & Restaurant, Mansfield.

Shcklocks’ fundraising — Try It For TenFifty — was an idea originally conceived by Shacklocks partner Clare McShane.

It combines fundraising with opportunities for employees from all four Shacklocks branches to share and experience one another’s hobbies and interests.

Clare said “Shacklocks is committed to supporting the local communities in which we have been based for over 115 years.

“Try It For TenFifty has been great fun for everyone who has taken part and we are pleased to have been able to support TenFifty with this and other fundraising over the last 12 months.”

The experience days included tap dancing at the Mansfield Palace Theatre, Parkrunning, bowls at Chesterfield Bowling Club, and yoga. Shacklocks also extended their fundraising into Christmas.

TenFifty founders Tracy Radford and Jimmy Power said: “We were delighted to receive this support from Shacklocks. This is a wonderful boost, not only allowing us to continue our work but also giving a massive thumbs up for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities to have a parity of opportunity — and a life like any other.”

TenFifty supports people to experience a night club scene, make new friends and have fun within a safe environment.

With the help of National Lottery funding, TenFifty also runs weekly DJ training sessions and now has four in-house DJs who play at the monthly events.
