Quaker Week events

The theme of Quaker Week, which runs from 29th September to 6th October, is stories and the Mansfield Meeting is hosting two events at the Friends Meeting House on Rosemary Street.

The first, focusing on the story of Quakers in Mansfield, is Walking Mansfield Quaker Heritage Trail With A Quaker on Sunday, 29th September, at 1.30pm. The walk, which lasts about 90 minutes and looks at some of the places and buildings associated with the Mansfield Quakers, will be led by local historian Ralph Holt.

Visitors will also be able to see the results of a community art project that represents the Meeting on 29th September at 1.30pm.

The second event, focusing on Kindness, is on Sunday, 6th October, from 1.30pm. It will see a re-enactment of Tom Hemmings’s experience of a Penniless Pilgrimage, a kindness meditation and the sharing of stories and cartoons on kindness, created by young friends.
