Peeks at CCM ready to rise to 24-hour fundraising challenge

Posted onPosted on 4th Jul

Three directors from a Mansfield company are aiming to reach their fundraising Peek in September when they tackle a tough 24-hour challenge for a cancer charity.

Siblings Chelsea, Trent and Kendal Peek from CCM — an agency specialising in print, creative and office supplies — will take on the national Three Peaks Challenge in September.

The trio, who are the children of the firm’s founders, Steve and Penny Peek, will be raising money for Cancer Research UK as they attempt the three climbs on Friday, 27th September, and then overnight into Saturday 28th.

They said: “We came to the conclusion that with us now having three Peeks within CCM, it is a challenge that must be done!

“A lot of us at CCM have been affected by cancer — either directly or indirectly — and it is truly horrible.

“We feel very fortunate to still have our health and the least we can do is do something useful with it.

“If we can raise any amount at all to help try to defeat cancer then it will have been 100% worth it, no matter how difficult we find it.

“Any donation, small or large, would be amazing.”

The Three Peaks Challenge will see the team climb the three highest peaks in Scotland, England and Wales inside 24 hours.

After scaling Ben Nevis in Scotland, they will be driven to Scafell Pike in England before then taking on Mount Snowdon in Wales.

The total walking distance of the challenge is 23 miles as they climb more than 10,000ft.
CCM, based on the Millennium Business Park, was founded more than 20 years ago by Penny and Steve.

The Three Peaks Challenge is not the company’s first fundraising venture as it is a regular supporter of the annual Macmillan Coffee Morning initiative.
