MP launches Ashfield’s Got Talent competition in lockdown

Posted onPosted on 13th Jan

Ashfield MP Lee Anderson is launching a Sunday night local talent competition for his constituents during February.

The idea came to the MP when the third national coronavirus lockdown was introduced.

The competition will run on Zoom and YouTube and is open to any resident within the constituency. Dancers, guitarists, singers and poets are among those who have signed up.

There will be guest judges — all from Ashfield and Eastwood — and prizes have been donated by local businesses and the MP.

The talent show follows a series of lockdown quizzes held by the MP.

Lee said: “Life has been tough for all of us and with another national lockdown, I thought it would be something fun to lift spirits.

“There are so many talented people in Ashfield and Eastwood, so it’s a great opportunity to showcase it.

“Please get involved if you can by coming on the show or watching”.

Anyone wanting to take part should email [email protected] for further information.
