High-profile visit sees vital work of community hub

Posted onPosted on 7th Jun

The role of Academy Transformation Trust Further Education College in Sutton was discussed by Nottinghamshire Police and Crime Commissioner Gary Godden and Natalie Baker-Napier, head of the Nottingham and Nottinghamshire Violence Reduction Partnership, during a visit to the college’s Community Hub in the Idlewells Shopping Centre, Sutton.

They learned about ATTFE’s work around community safety, cohesion, volunteering, supporting wellbeing, and inclusivity, while meeting staff, learners, volunteers, and college community ambassadors.

The visitors were shown around the hub, which is regularly used by the local community for various events, courses, and talks, before spending time with ATTFE Uniformed Services learners, answering their questions about careers in the field.

College principal Liz Barrett said: “We are pleased that both Gary and Natalie found the visit enlightening in relation to the facilities and work we do in and around Sutton and the local area. We thank them for taking the time to connect with our learners and community.”
