Berry Hill Primary School has received two grants to support the outdoor play of its nursery children.
A Tesco Stronger Starts grant enabled the Mansfield school to buy bikes, scooters, sandpit, and hopscotch game.
The £1,000 grant was given after the school went through a voting process at the Jubilee store off Oak Tree Lane.
Mansfield Education Foundation has also given a £1,000 grant that was used for a mini trim trail set, which the children can move around themselves to create new trails to step and jump between.
The school said imaginative play has increased and more interaction is taking place between pupils.
Headteacher Ben Trenowden added: “Our school is very lucky to have been supported by two funders. We worked hard to purchase items that are good value and provide good outdoor play opportunities for our nursery children.
“It is heartwarming to see the children excited to go outside to play. The equipment is providing a range of skill developments and we are seeing increased social interaction opportunities, such as using good manners while using the equipment and also imaginative play.
“The children are also demonstrating increased physical motor skill development and increased resilience while playing outdoors.
“We could not be more pleased with the difference the grants have made to out outdoor play provision for our youngest children.”
