God save the teen!

Posted onPosted on 28th Nov

A funny and moving coming of age show about growing up and getting it wrong is set to delight audiences at West Nottinghamshire College’s Create Theatre in December.

Renaissance One presents God Save The Teen, written and performed by Andrew Graves, on Wednesday 19 December at 7.30pm.

Poet and former media tutor Andrew Graves relates a drama of gob-smackingly embarrassing first dates, imagined rock-n-roll supermarkets, divorce, disillusion and working class rebel.

Expect disappearing goths, sadistic PE teachers and a search for the truth and somewhere to belong.

Whether a teen or not, everyone will relate to this honest and nostalgic prayer to that joyously painful, pimple-faced period in our lives where everything and nothing seems possible; where you can be earnest, awkward, beautiful and ridiculous all at the same time.

With a live performance by musician Benjamin McElroy, this show is directed by Jennifer Tang, produced by Renaissance One and funded by Arts Council England.

Tickets cost £8 per person, with concessions costing £6. Staff and students from the college can purchase tickets at £5 with their ID badge. Tickets can be purchased at https://www.ticketsource.co.uk/date/584209 or by calling 01623 413363.
