Fundraising at the Victoria Club, Huthwaite, by Jenny Chambers and a team of family and friends has resulted in a cheque for £1,450 being presented to the Amazons Breast Cancer Support Group, which helps patients at King’s Mill Hospital, Sutton.

Beryl Perrin, chairperson of the Amazons, said: “Throughout the year Jenny has organised fundraising events at the club, including jumble sales, a children’s Christmas Party and numerous raffles.

“She has been helped by a hard-working support team of family and friends, including Tara, Melanie, Samantha, Sue and Margaret, Sue and Dave, Sam Skidmore, Michelle Dent and the club’s landlord and landlady, Gary and Denise Waring.

“The donation, which will fund benefits for local breast cancer patients at King’s Mill, is one of many over the years from Jenny and her generous Huthwaite supporters. The Amazons say a big thank you to her and them.”
