Foundation tops £1m aid mark

The Nottinghamshire Community Foundation (NCF) has topped the £1m mark in its delivery of National Emergency Trust grants to local groups.

A total of 157 grants, averaging £6,000, have been awarded over the past six months to local charities and community projects offering support to vulnerable adults and children during the coronavirus crisis.

The chief executive of NCF, Nina Dauban, said: “We’ve been heartened to see so many local groups galvanise to help in during this difficult time.
“This includes core support for shopping, befriending and help in getting online.

“Other groups have refocused their support services to reach those most isolated and in need.

“The National Emergency Trust’s Coronavirus Appeal has raised more than £92m nationally and Community Foundations across the UK have been helping them reach our most disadvantaged communities.”

Readers wanting to donate to the fund appeal should go to the National Emergencies Trust website or to find out more about Nottinghamshire Community Foundation visit www.nottscf.org.uk or email [email protected]
