Elf Week spreads cheer as community is put in focus

Posted onPosted on 7th Dec

Academy Transformation Trust Further Education (ATTFE) raised money for charity during Elf Week, which was held across four campuses — Sutton Community Academy, Dukeries Academy, Retford College of Vehicle Technology and Portland College.

Both staff at the trust — based at Sutton Community Academy — and learners took part in a variety of ‘FE’stive activities, such as guess the name of the elf, elf puzzles and fun classroom quizzes.

The week also linked in with the trust’s themed month of community, which was aimed at spreading ‘FE’stive cheer during the pandemic.

Katie Barrett, head of learner experience, said: “Wellbeing and fundraising is so important and has always been a huge focus for us — and is even more so now with the current pandemic. It was a fabulous week with everyone getting involved.”

Staff and learners dressed up as elves to support the Alzheimer’s Society, raising a total of £230.
