Diamond day marks 60 years of marriage

Posted onPosted on 26th Feb

A couple celebrated their diamond wedding — and a birthday — in style thanks to their family.

Graham and Patricia Marsh, who were married at St Phillip Neri Church, Mansfield, on 27th February 1965, enjoyed a diamond day at The Hostess restaurant, Sookholme, to mark their 60th wedding anniversary and Graham’s 82nd birthday.

They were joined by family and friends to celebrate their marriage milestone.

Among the many cards the coupe received was one from King Charles and Queen Camilla, as well as a certificate from Pope Francis.

The couple’s son, Cory Marsh, who helped to organise the special day — and also arranged for large 60 figures that lit up — said: “I am very proud of my parents to be able to celebrate 60 years of marriage.”

After their wedding, Graham and Patricia lived on Stanley Road, Mansfield, and then on Worcester Avenue, Mansfield Woodhouse.

They later had a house built in Warsop and lived on Glebe Avenue, before moving to their present home in Creswell.
