Coronavirus: Mansfield District Council suspends brown bin collections

Posted onPosted on 31st Mar

Mansfield District Council is no longer collecting garden waste (brown bin) to “protect our staff and sustain critical services for the long-term.”

It said the move would allow its resources to be concentrated on the collection of household (green bin) and recycling waste (blue bin).

Individual missed green and blue bins should be reported online at www.mansfield.gov.uk/bins

The council said: “At this time we are not accepting new sign-ups to the garden waste service. We will announce any decisions on service refunds at a later date.

“We apologise for any inconvenience and thank you for your continued understanding and support at this very difficult and unprecedented time.

“Keep up to date with our service changes at www.mansfield.gov.uk/coronavirus.”

Nottinghamshire County Council’s Household Waste Recycling Centres are closed due to the Covid-19 outbreak. Householders should not put garden waste in their green or blue bin.
