Colour for kids at college

Posted onPosted on 9th Jul

A world of colour and creativity is being organised for youngsters at West Nottinghamshire College’s art studio this August.

The summer art workshops on both 6 and 7 August will take place at the Derby Road campus and will be aimed at different age groups to bring out their artistic talents.

The Creating Disney World sessions are for five to eight-year-olds which will include making their favourite Disney characters through a range of art and craft activities.

Tutors will support groups with individual help and guidance on the two-day course. This course runs from 9am to 12pm on Monday 6 and Tuesday 7 August and costs £25 for both days.

The workshop for older children aged nine to 13 will involve painting acrylic on canvas. Children will be given a step-by-step demonstration with help and guidance to draw and paint their favourite characters, using specific techniques.

This course runs from 1pm to 5pm on Monday 6 and Tuesday 7 August and costs £30 for both days.

All materials will be included in the cost but participants should bring snacks and drinks.

Create Theatre co-ordinator Cat Orton said: “This is the perfect opportunity for young people to explore their artistic potential, meet new faces and learn how to make mini masterpieces during the summer break.”
