TurnerFox to help homeless with sleeping bags donations

Posted onPosted on 21st Nov

Mansfield-based recruitment agency TurnerFox has teamed up with The Salvation Army Mansfield to help homeless people this winter by donating sleeping bags in the Mansfield, Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire area.

It said sleeping bags are an item not often donated and difficult to come by. TurnerFox plans to run collections from Wednesday, 27th November through to Friday, 17th December.

TurnerFox Recruitment, an independent agency, is also supporting the Beacon Project Mansfield by collecting new and used rucksacks.

TurnerFox said: “Christmas in the recruitment industry usually means gift drops and chocolates for clients. This year, however, we decided we wanted to do something a little different to help the community. That’s why we have teamed up with The Salvation Army.”

It said in Mansfield there are approximately 24 people living on the streets. The Salvation Army receives donations all year round to assist with those in need, however items such as sleeping bags are rarely donated.

The ‘Keep a Homeless Person Warm This Winter’ campaign being run by TurnerFox calls on the help of other local businesses to donate a waterproof sleeping bag, which will be collected on designated pick-up days.

TurnerFox is offering a prize draw to all businesses that donate with the chance to win an office Christmas hamper and feature on a live donation feed.
