Posted onPosted on 8th Feb

A budding digital marketer has more than national Apprenticeship Week (this week) to celebrate, having landed a new role at web development, creative, digital marketing and video specialists Purpose Media.

Robin Witts has joined the company to complete a digital marketing apprenticeship. Training provider, EMA Training, helped Robin secure his new role, which will enable him to learn the fundamentals of digital marketing and gain experience of techniques, such as search engine optimisation (SEO), pay per click advertising (PPC), social media advertising, e-mail marketing, re- marketing and conversion optimisation.

Having left The Brunts Academy with A-levels in psychology, English literature and politics, Robin, who lives in Mansfield, spent the following year working as a retail assistant in a Levi’s store.

Robin said: “When I left school I wasn’t sure about going to university or even the type of profession I wanted pursue longer term so I decided to have a year out and gain some work experience whilst contemplating my options.

“After a year of working I realised that university life wasn’t for me and that I wanted to follow a career in marketing. The digital marketing apprenticeship opportunity with Purpose Media really appealed to me as it will enable me to combine education and learning whilst developing a long term career.”

In his spare time Robin enjoys playing golf and is a former county badminton player. In 2019 he also spent his summer working on a summer camp in Pennsylvania, USA.

National Apprenticeship Week takes place between 8 and 14 February. This annual week-long celebration is held to shine a light on the amazing work being done by employers and apprentices across the country and aims to recognise how employers of all sizes have stepped up to the challenge during this unprecedented time.
