A Sutton opticians is in the frame for a Specsavers Award for Excellence.

Specsavers in Idlewells Shopping Centre has been shortlisted for the excellence in people development category at the bi-annual awards, which celebrate good work across all UK Specsavers stores.

“We’re thrilled to be in the running for this particular category,” says Specsavers Sutton store director, Nigel Davidson.

“The individual development and welfare of our staff is really important to us and key to creating a first-rate working environment. Working with all team members to reach their full potential within the company is incredibly rewarding and we’re so excited to be recognised for this.

Sutton Specsavers staff are no strangers to awards, having notched up an impressive tally of eight over the last 10 years, with several awards already under their belt for staff development.

The Specsavers Awards for Excellence will be presented on 24 November in Birmingham.
