NM Group secures multi-million pound lots on Leicester Construction Framework

Huthwaite-based NM Group (North Midland Construction Plc) has secured a place on Leicester City Council’s £240m Construction Framework, which is set to deliver regeneration and schools projects over the next four years.

The company has been named on the two highest value lots, for projects within the £700k to £2m and £1.8m upwards realms.

Leicester City Council plans to deliver a portfolio of projects to a potential value of £240m through to 2022. It is expected to include schools, cultural facilities, economic development schemes and city centre regeneration. Major capital and development projects will support the council and city mayor’s vision to improve the economic, social and environmental wellbeing of the city.

John Homer, chief executive of NM Group said: “Leicester City Council has impressive plans for the region and we are delighted to have been named as part of the construction teams who will help deliver their vision.

“Our place on the framework will enable us to demonstrate our expertise in delivering high-quality and complex projects within the public sector and is reflective of the positive momentum behind our own business.”

The framework agreement is for two years with an option to extend for a further two years. Main areas of activity are likely to comprise individual projects or programmes for new build work, extensions, improvements, renovations, building site infrastructure works, major reinstatement and repairs.

These works may also include drainage, roads, public realm, contamination remediation and the laying of services infrastructure.
