Mansfield and Chesterfield hair salon Mark Leeson has won three awards at British Hairdressing Awards.

Stylists Lisa Graham and Joseph I’Anson, of the Mansfield salon, were crowned Eastern Hairdresser of the Year.

Andrea Giles, of Mark Leeson, Chesterfield, and Terri Kay, of Mark Leeson, Mansfield, gained top spot in the Men’s Hairdresser of the Year category.

They had all been judged twice by a panel of hairdressing legends and British Hairdressing Awards Hall of Fame members.

The icing on the cake was recognition for salon owners Mark Leeson and Richard Darby, who were inducted in the British Hairdressing Hall of Fame for three previous wins in the British Hairdressing Awards Artistic Team of the Year category.

Terri, manager of the Mansfield salon, will next year make hairdressing history as she will be again inducted into the Hall of Fame for three previous wins in three categories.

The HJ’s (Hairdressers Journal) British Hairdressing Awards celebrate the people producing the best hairdressing work across England, Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales. For the first time in its 36-year history, the ‘Oscars’ of the hair world were held virtiually.

The event was hosted by television personality Rylan Clark-Neal on the Hairdressers Journal International Facebook page.

In another first for the awards, the trophy arrived with the winners the following day, enabling them to continue the celebrations and a chance to get the all important photo opportunity.

“The awards on the way to Mark Lesson hair salon were three of 18 trophy wins on the night in a line-up of ten regional and eight specialist awards.
