Derbyshire County Cricket Club has renewed its marketing partnership with South Normanton-based Purpose Media for another two years.

The full-service marketing agency was first appointed in 2015 to provide a range of marketing services. Initially this involved helping DCCC develop an improved web presence to promote the venue for corporate events, weddings and functions, as well as provide email marketing and other digital marketing services to enhance external communication.

Over the last two years this has proved to be extremely successful in helping to increase venue bookings, engagement with sponsors and members of the 1870 Business Club and improve communication with cricket supporters. Enquiries for corporate events have increased 172% and for the last two years their Christmas party nights have sold out. A website visitor now spends longer browsing the website, with traffic rising by overall by 49% and organic traffic rising by 128%.

The venue, which is also named The Pattonair County Ground, has developed into a 365-day-a-year venue, hosting major events such as an annual Fireworks Night & Fun Fair, as well as concerts featuring legendary artists such as Elton John, Little Mix and Boyzone.

In August of this year, stars of London’s West End will perform an Evening with Queen and the venue will also play host to Derby’s biggest music festival – Derby Sound – featuring Rita Ora, Rudimental and The Vamps.

Many high-profile cricket fixtures have also been hosted such as the ICC Women’s World Cup and one-day international matches. proving that the facilities and management of events is first class.

By extending the partnership deal with Purpose Media, DCCC plans to further improve the effectiveness of its marketing. This will include further enhancing the website to offer fans a 24/7 matchday experience. This will be seamlessly integrated with social platforms and live video streaming, positioning DCCC at the forefront of digital evolution in cricket.

Commenting, Matt Wheatcroft, (pictured with Billy Godleman and Wayne Madsen) Managing Director of Purpose Media said: “We have built a very successful track record of helping businesses and sports clubs such as Derby County FC, Rotherham United FC, and Middlesex County Cricket Club and local grass roots clubs to develop their branding and online marketing strategy. By extending the Partnership with Derbyshire County Cricket Club we will be helping them to provide Members and supporters with an improved user experience, whilst also helping the club increase profitability.

Last year Purpose Media was instrumental in bringing live streaming of the club’s Specsavers County Championship and Royal London One-Day Cup matches to the club website and this has proven to be a big hit with supporters as they can now watch every ball of the action at The Pattonair County Ground. This service is again on offer for the new season.

Whether it be cricket, a business event or a major concert, it is important that we create the right impression. Purpose Media has helps us to understand our customers and the journey they take when they interact with us which and this has had a positive impact on our brand and reputation.”
