Posted onPosted on 26th Oct

A Mansfield Woodhouse family business has scooped another top award for its car buying experience.

Cedar Specialist Cars was named Retailer of the Year at the national Auto Trader Retailer Awards 2020.

It is the second time the car retailer has taken home one of the prestigious awards, winning Rising Star of the Year award in 2019 after just one year in operation.

This year Cedar Specialist Cars beat competition from more than 13,000 UK automotive retailers to receive the Retailer of the Year award at the 13th annual Auto Trader Retailer Awards.

Cedar Specialist Cars Ltd was formed at the start of 2018 by owner and managing director Sean Cantillon (above), who has been in the industry since 1999.

He said: “We are absolutely elated to have achieved this award.

“After having worked for the big car dealer plcs for nearly 20 years, to step out and go it alone is one of the scariest things I’ve done. So to achieve this award is unreal.”

The Retailer of the Year award is the highest accolade a retailer can win at the Auto Trader Retailer Awards. It is awarded to those who demonstrate the best practices in retail and consistently deliver top-quality customer experience across the whole car buying journey, from online adverts to customer communication.

n total, 18 award winners were announced across seven categories during the awards ceremony which, as a result of Covid-19, was completely digital for the first time. It was hosted by Auto Trader chief executive Nathan Coe and sales director Rebecca Clark.

The winners of this year’s Auto Trader Retailer Awards were determined by a combination of in depth analysis of millions of data points, independent judging by a panel of experts (from Google, Rightmove, The Specialist Works and Ennis & Co), customer feedback and from the UK’s largest mystery shopping exercise among auto retailers.
