Business owners Ben and Karen Wheeler, who own X-Press Legal Services Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire, have received the Digital Excellence award from their national office.

After launching their property search business in August 2019, they had to quickly embrace digital communication, more than their usual. and preferred, face to face networking.

Ben and Karen managed to achieve good levels of growth for the business, adapting to the increasing digitalisation of the sector and communicated with solicitors and conveyancing professionals online, building a client base and networking in the local area throughout the lockdown periods.

Ben said: “We were determined to keep business as usual for both ourselves and our clients. Karen and I are delighted to be awarded for our innovation and for growing our business throughout a difficult year. Although the pandemic brought challenges, it was something we were able to overcome by increasing our digital networking and communication.

“We are very grateful that the property sector received support from the government with initiatives such as the stamp duty holiday which has seen the conveyancing sector busier than ever.

“We are definitely looking forward to getting back to normal and being able to meet our clients again; and getting out to meet with prospective clients. But, of course, we will now be able to combine both the digital and real world!”
