Ashfield District Council Leader, Jason Zadrozny, is to formally open Mansfield Building Society’s new branch premises on Low Street, Sutton-in-Ashfield, on Friday, 4th October.

The new branch has opened following significant investment by the building society, which includes:

· two air-conditioned interview rooms
· modern counter service
· online access to the society’s website and savings portal through touch screen tablets
· a stylish open seating area, which provides space for customers to chat, or for community groups to use for meetings or for promoting their services to customers.

There will be refreshments available on the day, and visitors will be able to access professional face-to-face mortgage advice as well as picking up free information packs on the range of services available from the Society, including savings accounts exclusively for Local and Loyal customers of all ages.

Branch and community development manager Nicola Caulton said that she was looking forward to celebrating the opening of the new branch and welcoming visitors through its doors.

She added: “As a local building society, owned by our members, we believe that having a high street presence is important because our customers tell us that they appreciate the face-to-face contact our branches offer. We’re proud of our modern and personal approach and recognise the value we bring to the local community.

“Not only do we contribute to our local community through our Charitable Trust, Community Support Scheme and volunteering, investment in our branch network also highlights our bright future and commitment to our Heartland Area.”

Coun Zadrozny said this was another success story for the district, adding: “We’ve recently seen a variety of businesses investing in Sutton, including Wetherspoons, Angling Direct and now Mansfield Building Society. I’m pleased that these businesses share our vision for the future of Sutton in Ashfield.

“These investments, together with the exciting news of up to £50m of Government funding heading to the town, shows that Sutton is definitely heading in the right direction.”
