South Normanton furniture manufacturer Whitemeadow has celebrated its 25-year anniversary in the upholstery industry.

Managing director Ian Oscroft said: “This achievement is solely down to one thing and that is the people who have worked for us over the years.”

Whitemeadow has more than 20 employees who have 20-plus years’ experience at the company, totalling over 567 years.

A wall of fame has been created to mark members of staff who have been there for 25 years. The first to be installed on the wall was upholsterer Garry Griffiths, who has been with Whitemeadow since the start.

Ian added: “The business has developed beyond recognition in our 25 years, starting from humble beginnings with a handful of employees at our first site to where we are now — one of the biggest furniture makers in the UK with six manufacturing units and over 600 employees.”

To mark the occasion, staff across all six sites were treated to branded cupcakes and a free prize draw.
