Building society branches’ festive help for charity

Posted onPosted on 11th Dec

Two of The Nottingham’s branches – Mansfield and Sutton – have teamed up to play a role in brightening Christmas for vulnerable people locally.

Together they are donating £350 to Mansfield-based mental health charity Jigsaw Support Scheme.

The Nottingham made charitable funds available and branches were asked to nominate projects based in their area that support the most vulnerable in our communities. They also raised funds by selling crocheted Christmas decorations.

Mansfield and Sutton selected Jigsaw and the money will help make Christmas hampers for the charity’s clients, many of whom are over 60 and who have become lonely and isolated.

Customer Services Consultant Izabella Zygmunt, who volunteers at Jigsaw in her spare time, said: “The Nottingham’s Mansfield and Sutton branches are delighted to be able to donate to such a fantastic cause. Hopefully it will help spread much Christmas cheer.

“As branch teams we are also really proud to work for an organisation that continues, even at a time when everyone is facing extra challenges due to the Covid-19 pandemic, to play a key role in supporting those who are most at need or vulnerable.”
