Things to do with the family this summer

Mansfield District Council has included a What’s On guide inside the July edition of the My Mansfield magazine to provide families with information about free and low cost activities taking place in the district during the school holidays.

Mansfield District Council, Mansfield Museum, Mansfield District Leisure Trust, Mansfield BID and the Four Seasons Shopping Centre are putting on a wide range of events and activities to keep the whole family entertained.

The guide includes information about sports, crafts and creative events taking place between 26 July and 6 September while the My Mansfield magazine is packed full of news and information about what’s happening at the council.

Events include the Mansfield Summer Festival, which takes place at Titchfield Park on 28 July, at King George V Park on 9 August and Carr Lane Park in Warsop on 22 August from 10am to 3pm.

It promises to be a fun filled day of entertainment including cycling themed crafts and competitions to celebrate a ‘summer of cycling’ as the town prepares to welcome the fourth stage of the Tour of Britain to Mansfield.

At each park there are also pony rides, arena attractions including a circus skills workshop, climbing wall, face painting and Punch and Judy Shows, plus much more.

Also included in the What’s On guide is information about sports sessions in various parks as well as lots of activities at the districts five leisure centres- there’s something to suit all ages and abilities.

The My Mansfield magazine is delivered to most households within the district, but it can also be downloaded at www.mansfield.gov.uk
