Second car show makes a pit-stop in Mansfield

Posted onPosted on 6th Oct

Mansfield District Council’s second free-to-enter car show event comes to Mansfield Market Place on Sunday, 22nd October from 11am to 3pm.

Car enthusiasts are welcomed to show off their pride and joy at this free event and all those who attend with their vehicle will be entered into a competition.

The top prize is sponsored by John Sankey Estate Agent. Local business owner John Sankey is an avid car fan who is often seen around town in his 1976 Rover P6 3500 VIP, which will be on display at the event.

There will be two other chances to win prizes, which include a £20 voucher to spend on Mansfield Market and a £50 cash prize too.

Other vehicles on display include a Riley 4/72 Saloon, 1958 Oldsmobile Super 88, a selection of rally cars and a Mini Cooper, but spaces are still available for classic vehicles of all makes and varieties.

Mansfield Fire Museum will also be in attendance with a vintage fire engine.

In addition to the display of vehicles, the council will also be providing a kids zone with free face-painting, giant games and craft activities. There will be live vintage music.

Admission for spectators and exhibitors is free all day but exhibitors must pre-book their space in advance by emailing [email protected] to request a booking form. Vehicles will not be permitted access on the day without prior booking due to limited space.

Mick Barton, Deputy Mayor at Mansfield District Council, who will be presenting winners with their prizes at the end of the event, said: “We are really looking forward to welcoming new visitors and exhibitors to the event this year after it was so well received last year.

“The council is working hard to raise the profile of Mansfield town centre by hosting great events that can be enjoyed by all the family so we hope you can come along to show your support.”
