Santa Paws is coming to town

Posted onPosted on 5th Dec

Tails will be wagging in Mansfield this Saturday and Sunday, 10 and 11 December, when Santa opens up his Christmas grotto for dogs in Mansfield Market Place to raise money for a local charity.

From 11am until 3pm, dog lovers can bring their pets to meet Santa. Entry is £2 and includes a special Christmas gift for each dog. All proceeds will go to the Jerry Green Dog Rescue charity, which cares for and rehomes abandoned dogs.

The grotto has been donated by Woodhouse Sheds and Garages Ltd with gifts supplied by Jerry Green Dog Rescue.

Mansfield Market will also be operational from 10am to 4pm, on Monday 12 and 19 December.

On Saturday, 17 December, Covent Garden entertainer Nick Melinowski (pictured) will be wowing the crowds with his outstanding juggling act that involves machete knives, a ladder and Shakespeare.

Cllr David Smith, portfolio holder for cultural services, town and district centres, said: “We have lots of opportunities for families to make the most of the festive period in the town centre starting with the Santa Paws event.

“This is a great opportunity for you to take a seasonal photograph of your pet with Santa, while supporting a good cause.

“Then support your local market and grab a bargain at the extra market days plus be entertained by the world famous Covent Garden entertainer on 17 December.”
